Traveling from Lahore to Pezu is a long but manageable journey, and this article explores the various options available including road, train, and plane—along with distance and approximate travel duration.

  • By Road: Approximately 515 kilometers (around 320 miles)

  • By Air (straight-line distance): About 380 kilometers (roughly 236 miles)

Traveling from Lahore to Pezu by Road

The most direct and practical way to reach Pezu from Lahore is by road. This option gives you the most flexibility and is often preferred by travelers commuting for business, military, or local reasons.

  • Route: Lahore → Multan → Dera Ghazi Khan → Tank → Pezu (via Indus Highway or N-55)

  • Estimated Travel Time: 9 to 11 hours, depending on traffic and rest stops

  • Road Conditions: The M-3 and M-4 motorways offer smooth travel till Multan. The roads beyond Dera Ghazi Khan become single-carriage and pass through semi-mountainous and arid terrain as you near Tank and Lakki Marwat.

Though the journey is long, the road is scenic in parts, especially between Dera Ghazi Khan and Pezu, where you pass through parts of the Sulaiman Mountain range.

Traveling from Lahore to Pezu by Train

There is no direct train to Pezu. The nearest major railway stations are located in Kundian, Mianwali, and Kohat, but none are very close to Pezu. Therefore, travel by train involves a hybrid plan combining rail and road.

  • Train Route Option:

    • Lahore to Dera Ghazi Khan or Kot Adu (via Multan Junction)

    • From there, take a bus, van, or car to reach Pezu via Tank or Lakki Marwat

  • Estimated Travel Duration:

    • Train Travel: 7–9 hours (depending on train route and stops)

    • Road Travel (Post-train): 3–4 hours

This method is more complex and time-consuming. It’s not the most efficient option unless you're constrained by budget or specific stops en route.

Traveling from Lahore to Pezu by Plane

There are no direct flights to Pezu or Lakki Marwat. The closest airports are in Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu (non-commercial), or Multan. Dera Ismail Khan Airport is often non-operational for commercial flights.

  • Flight Route Option:

    • Lahore to Multan (or Dera Ghazi Khan if flights are available)

    • From Multan, continue by road through Dera Ghazi Khan and Tank to Pezu

  • Estimated Flight Time:

    • Lahore to Multan: Around 1 hour

    • Road Travel (Multan to Pezu): 6–7 hours

Air travel reduces the time spent on the first half of the journey but still requires a substantial road trip afterwards. Hence, this is only a partial time-saver and depends on flight availability.

Key Travel Tips

  • Road Travel Preparation: Fuel up in Multan or Dera Ghazi Khan, as service stations become sparse afterward. Carry snacks and water for the latter half of the road trip.

  • Climate Note: Summers in this region can be extremely hot with temperatures exceeding 45°C (113°F). If traveling in summer, plan to drive during early morning or evening.
